The Most Dangerous Game: A Short Story By Wing Boy

Our story begins in a preschool, with a father picking up his son at exactly two-thirty. The father, or most commonly known as Eugene,  takes his son’s backpack and start walking towards the car. Eugene has two sons, one named Samuel, who was nine, and another son named William who was around the age of three. Everyday, Eugene picks up William first, then Samuel. Eugene and Will reach the car and Eugene straps his son in his booster seat. Eugene then starts the car and they start to leave the school grounds.

Eugene and his son start to have some small talk, when suddenly Will threw up in the back seat. Eugene quickly looked back only to see his son covered in puke. Eugene didn’t pay attention to road, causing him to run a red light. Everything was blank from then on for Eugene, all he heard were screeching of tires. Everything was blank and silent.

Eugene then woke up. He was in a small box that was heading upward. All Eugene remembered was his son covered in puke. Then he wondered where his son was. He then wondered where he, himself,  was. The box suddenly stop moving. The top of the box opened and Eugene got out as soon as it opened. Everything was dark. Eugene called out, “ Hello? Is anybody there? Where am I?” Then suddenly, Eugene was blinded by a bright light. He immediately covered his eyes with his hands. When we gained control of his sight, He was in a podium, along with four more podiums with other people at each podium. In the middle of the room was another podium with another man, who was dressed up in a dark blue trench coat and pants. His hair was neatly done and had a microphone in his hand. Eugene then realized what was going on. He was in a game show.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen!" Said the man in the middle. "Your probably wondering what is going on, well I'm here to tell you! You will be put through a test to see if you will live." Eugene was then very confused. A lady from one of the four podiums then spoke. "What do you mean?" The man continued, "Glad you asked! If you haven't figured it out yet, your on a game show. All of you are people who have died recently." Eugene's heart skipped a beat right when he said that he had died. "The winner gets to go back earth and live their live. The test will contain many deadly events that will test your will to live." Eugene could not comprehend what was going on. "The losers, on the other hand, would go to heaven or hell. So, with out further ado, let's begin!" Everything the went dark, again.

Eugene woke up in a tight, scaly outfit. He didn't see anybody else. Then from the blink of an eye, a whole new world appeared. It was covered by lava and had rock sticking out of the lava. Eugene then figured out what to do. He then noticed to his right the other three people who in the dark room. Their was male and two females. They were all wearing the same thing as Eugene. A loud noise then came from the ceiling. "Hello again!" It was the announcer. "The rules are simple. Get to the end of the course and you win! You only get one shot! You may now begin!"

Everybody started to jump across the rocks, or platforms, to get to the other side. Eugene, being a well built person, gained the lead. He then had trouble at a platform that combined all the other lanes. The other male, who was not far behind, tired to push Eugene off the platform. Eugene dodged the attack, making him fall to the ground and making the other male fall off of the platform, into the fiery lava. Eugene got back to his feet, but never noticed that one of the females had passed him. Eugene started to sprint across the platforms, when suddenly the woman in front of him was hit by a flying object. Eugene then stopped to see that what hit her was a giant howler monkey. The lady and the monkey both burned in the lava. Eugene looked behind him only only to the the other lady and a pack of viscous howler monkeys. When he looked back, he saw more howler monkeys. He only saw one option, to dodge the monkeys.

Eugene started running toward the finish, dodging as many monkeys as he could. Eugene had enough time to take one last glance behind him only to see monkeys, the woman, who is just barely holding on, and a swarm of locusts. Eugene really started running now. He was getting closer to the finish, until a giant monkey tackled him to the floor. He didn't fall in the lava but was close. The monkey and Eugene were face to face, with the monkey flaring his teeth, looking like he is going to rip Eugene's face off. Then everything went black.

Eugene woke up back in the same room when he stared the "game show". The announcer was standing in the middle of the room. "Congratulations! You have won!" Eugene was very confused. "What? I was ripped to shreds by that howler monkey." The announcer giggled. "You almost got ripped to shreds. The other woman tripped and was devoured by the locusts. Now you can live once more!" Eugene took on long sigh of relief. "Oh wait one more thing! If you die again, you can not return to the game." Eugene nodded. Then all of  a sudden, everything went black, again,

Eugene woke up in another box, but different from the last. It was much darker, much more cramped and not moving. Eugene remembered he had some matches in his pocket. He lit one and then could not believe what he saw. He was in a coffin. The top of the coffin said something that Eugene would never forget. "See you in Hell, Sincerely, your wife."

(PS. Sorry for the ending word. I just thought this was perfect.)
